Williamsport, Pa. — The Fall 2024 digital edition of The Tributary, Lycoming College’s student-run publication of fiction, poetry, and art, is now available for free online.
The publication is available to read online at thetributaryjournal.com.
The Tributary publishes the works of Lycoming College students each fall semester and an issue containing national undergraduate works in the spring. Since the journal’s switch from print to digital in 2023, the editorial staff has worked to archive past issues and make the full texts more accessible online.
Pieces from the following Lycoming College students are featured in the Fall 2024 issue:
- Sara Van Remersdal ’28, literature major
- Elise Bach ’28, undeclared major
- Ella J. Rossman ’25, creative writing major
- Julia Stetts ’25, creative writing major
- Julz Martin ’26, art major
- Amanda Charowsky ’27, history major
- Soren Ashman ’28, art history major
- Eric Smith
- MK Kracker ’27, creative writing major
The issue is tied together by the cover image, “Nostalgia,” by Soren Ashman. In this issue, writers and artists delve deep into nature as it reflects upon themselves. They also explore history. Although the call for submissions did not specify a theme, the chosen pieces wove a web of nostalgia.
Celebrating his second year as managing editor, Aiden Brown ’25 said, “Putting together this issue made me full of pride. In reviewing all of the pieces, I was taken back to the happiest points in my life, and some of the worst. But that is the world, you have to have both, and this issue showcases the harmony of having good and bad; a good laugh and a good cry. I am pleased for the world to see this collection and hope it touches them too.”
Brown was supported by fiction/creative-non-fiction editors Gray Kishbaugh ’26, Caylin Dimisa ’25, and Jordan Ohmann ’25; and poetry editors Sarah Lanphear ’25 and Chase Bower ’26. The editorial team worked alongside Pheobe Wagner, Ph.D., assistant professor of English, to edit and assemble the issue.
The Tributary prides itself on student voices regardless of the Lycoming College-specific issue or the national undergraduate issue. Email thetributary@lycoming.edu with questions or to speak to an editor.
Submissions for the national issue are open now. Submissions will be accepted through Feb. 15. Guidelines, publication info, and prize details are available at thetributaryjournal.com.
“We at The Tributary aim to seek what you as an artist need: the thorough spread of creativity and its appreciation,” added Brown.
