Every year, January sets the tone for the following months with the premiere of a bunch of new K-dramas, and 2025 will be no exception. Be it heart-warming romances like When the Stars Gossip and Motel California or thrillers such as Unmasked, the upcoming K-drama lineup for January 2025 looks promising.
At the forefront is the highly anticipated tvN original drama When the Stars Gossip. Deemed by Netflix as its first “earth-to-space romance”, the series promises “an emotional rollercoaster filled with laughter, challenges, and swoon-worthy moments”.
A gem by the legendary director Park Shin-woo, known for the International Emmy Award-nominated show It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, the show stars Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin in leading roles.
Meanwhile, actors Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk are all set to bring their star power to the first office romance K-drama of January 2025, Love Scout. Co-directed by Ham Joon-ho and Kim Jae-hong, Love Scout is expected to replicate the global success of the Park Seo-joon starrer 2018 classic What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.
Talking about his on-screen collaboration with co-actor Han Ji-min, Lee Joon-hyuk said in a press conference, “True to her title as ‘Romance Queen’, she delivered amazing performances in every scene. Please look forward to the great chemistry we have.”
Lest we forget the upcoming January 2025 Disney Plus Hotstar K-drama Unmasked, which will tell the story of Trigger, a team of skilled investigative journalists responsible for publishing some of the nation’s most controversial stories.
