On Friday (10/1), the Unicamp Entrance Exam Committee (Comvest) delivered 50 copies of the book “Essays 2024” to students and teachers of basic education in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, in Amazonas. The book, published by Unicamp Press, brings together the 30 best essays from the Unicamp Entrance Exam and the six best from the Indigenous Entrance Exam unified between Unicamp and Ufscar. The city is one of the locations where Unicamp will hold the Indigenous Entrance Exam 2025, next Sunday (12/1), and was the city with the largest number of applicants in this edition, with 1.439 candidates out of a total of 2.819 applicants.
The launch event, held at the Cultural Maloca of the Federation of Indigenous Organizations of Rio Negro (FOIRN), brought together around 50 students, as well as educators and authors whose essays were published in the book. Of the six essays selected, two were written by candidates from São Gabriel da Cachoeira. One of them, Geraldo Trindade Montenegro, was present and received a certificate of honor from the coordinator of the education and cultural heritage department of FOIRN, Melvino Fontes, and the Comvest team.

During the delivery of the copies, indigenous students from Unicamp, who are from the Alto Rio Negro region and were in the city on vacation, also participated in the event and shared a little about their experience at the university, as a way of encouraging other young people to enter public higher education.
This is the second time that Unicamp has included the Indigenous Entrance Exam essays in the publication. The first time was in the last edition.
The book can be purchased through the Unicamp Publishing House website.
