should be replaced with “dapat”. The other words that are paraphrased also show

meanings that are not appropriate to the context, such as the word “dibesarkan”

which should be replaced by the word “dikembangkan”. Then, the word

“pengajaran” should still be the word “pendidikan”. Because these two words have

quite different meanings and contexts in their use. However, the thing that forms

the basis of paraphrasing techniques in this online paraphrasing tool is the use of

synonyms for certain words which are marked with a blue font color. When we

want to click on a word, various synonyms will appear. We only need to choose

words that match the meaning and even the context of the sentence. However, in

both paraphrases, this tool is only used for Indonesian written paraphrases and

does not yet cover paraphrases in other languages, such as English.

In paraphrasing the Prepostseo tool, in appearance, it is very different from

Spinner.id and Rewriter. In rewriting this article, there are various paraphrasing

options such as “Simple and Advanced” for the free version, and “Fluency and

Creative” options for the paid version. This paraphrasing tool is very complete

because this paraphrase provides various paraphrases in various languages, for

example, Chinese, Deutch, French, Spanish, German, Indonesian, Portuguese,

Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Persian, Vietnamese, Norwegian, and Arabic. The

results of paraphrasing using Prepostseo show the results of paraphrasing words in

several words in bold. However, in this tool, the user cannot replace these words

with other synonyms because there is no synonym option yet as in Spinner.id and

Rewriter. So the writer still has to manually change the word according to the

meaning and context of the sentence.

Spinner.id and Rewriter also Prepostseo. In rewriting this article, there are various

paraphrasing options such as “Fluency, Standard, and Word Changer” options for

the free version. Besides options “Creative, Smarter, Shorten” for the paid version.

This paraphrasing tool is very complete because this paraphrase provides various

paraphrases in various languages, for example, English, Spanyol, Norwegian,

Butch, French, Germany, Portugues, Turkey, Indonesian, Russian, Japanese,

Chinese, Vietnam, Italian, Swedish, Romanian, Malay, Polish, Danish, Tagalog,

Afrikans, and Ukrainian. The results of paraphrasing using Prepostseo show the

results of paraphrasing words in several words in bold. However, in this tool, the

user cannot replace these words with other synonyms because there is no synonym

option yet as in Spinner.id and Rewriter. So the writer still has to manually change

the word according to the meaning and context of the sentence.

Inayah & Sulistyaningrum (2021) demonstrates that the use of online

paraphrasing tools could assist students in overcoming academic writing

difficulties in terms of content, structure, language usage, and paraphrasing

strategy. A significant consequence of the use of online paraphrasing tools in

academic writing, however, was the use of appropriate grammar. The online

paraphrasing tools could also assist students in paraphrasing the correct discourse

markers, changing the part of speech, using the correct tense, rewriting the source

text into a paraphrase with different writing, and changing the source text’s words.

In addition, the paraphrasing tools helped change active sentences to passive voice

and vice versa, discover synonyms for paraphrasing, and alter the original text’s

sentence structure. Respondents indicated that, even though paraphrasing tools

could not provide a paraphrased version of a source text that was 100 percent

accurate, they are still useful, particularly for those with limited English language

proficiency. Because online paraphrasing tools cannot read or comprehend the text

proficiently, students should use the tools with critical thought and teacher

supervision.
